Hala Schoukair is a Lebanese painter and printmaker born in 1957 in Beirut. She earned a diploma from the École Supérieure d'Études Cinématographiques in Paris in 1979, followed by a master's degree in the history of cinema from the Sorbonne University in 1980. Between 2001 and 2007, she continued to develop her artistic skills at the Art Students League of New York.

Schoukair's work is defined by intricate, repetitive motifs that explore organic and mineral forms. Her work revolves around themes of memory, structure, and stillness, while using a detailed layering technique that invites viewers to take part in slow and thoughtful reflection.

She has exhibited her work in Lebanon and internationally, with solo exhibitions such as You Promised Me Spring, 2017, and Grains of Light, 2014, at Agial Art Gallery in Beirut. Her participation in group exhibitions includes the ARABOFUTURS exhibition at the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris (October 2024-January 2025) and the Abu Dhabi Art Fair in 2023 and 2024.

In 2019, Schoukair came back to Lebanon and established the Saloua Raouda Choucair Foundation in Ras El Metn, dedicated to preserving her mother’s artistic legacy.
