Kholood Eid, born in 1987, is a Palestinian American documentary photographer, filmmaker, and educator based in New York City. Her creative journey intertwines personal healing with a profound exploration of vulnerability, resilience, and identity. Kholood’s work masterfully combines portraiture, conceptual art, and reportage, capturing the intricate layers of human experience and the beauty found in adversity.

In 2020, Kholood was part of a distinguished team at The New York Times, including Michael H. Keller, Gabriel J.X. Dance, and Nellie Bowles, that won the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award for their groundbreaking series, "Exploited." This series, which examined the alarming rise of online child sexual abuse material, was a testament to her commitment to impactful storytelling.

Kholood’s academic background includes a master’s degree in photojournalism from the University of Missouri. Beyond her professional pursuits, she shares her life with a delightfully odd dog named Professor, whose presence inspired the creation of the Wet Nose Pawject in 2023—a project that celebrates her deep affection for dogs. As a member of National Geographic’s Photo Society, Kholood continues to contribute to the visual storytelling community, enriching it with her unique perspective and empathetic approach.
