Latifa Toujani, born in Morocco in 1948, is a renowned feminist artist and cultural ambassador of Moroccan art. She has explored a wide array of artistic disciplines, including painting, lithography, photography, installation art, and curating. Collaborating with feminist writer Fatima Mernissi, she played a pivotal role in the feminist art movement. Toujani's participation in notable events such as the 1st Arab Biennial in Baghdad in 1974 and a pan-Arab art event in solidarity with Palestine, marked significant milestones in her career and the feminist art movement.

Since her first major exhibition at the Bab Rouah Gallery in 1970, Toujani has been recognized nationally and internationally for her experimental approach to art, delving into conceptual and performance art. Her most significant work, Maqamat Latifa, unveiled in 1979 at the Bab Rouah National Gallery, marked a turning point in her artistic career, leaving a lasting impact.
