Shawki Youssef, born in Beirut in 1973, is a Lebanese artist whose work delves into the complex processes of thought and the nature of existence. His art often centers on the human body, exploring how it dissolves and vanishes into marks and traces within intricate compositions.

Youssef earned his bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the Lebanese University in 1994 and later completed a Master’s in Science at Saint Joseph University in 2007. His artistic practice spans multiple mediums, including painting, drawing, video, and installations. His work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, such Lisbon , Paris, Doha and Paris .

Youssef continues to live and work in Beirut, where his art remains a profound exploration of the interplay between physical matter and the conceptual realms of mind and spirit. His pieces are part of prestigious collections, including the Ramzi and Saeda Dalloul Art Foundation (DAF), Barjeel Art Foundation, and the Salsali Private Museum in Dubai.
