Looking at the World Around You. Contemporary Works from Qatar Museums is part of the exhibition series on contemporary art organised at the Art Gallery of the Grupo Santander City. This is the first major exhibition outside Qatar featuring a selection of modern and contemporary works belonging to one of the most important collections of Arab art in the world, the Qatar Museums.

Abdellah Karroum, curator of the exhibition and director of the Mathaf (Arab Museum of Modern Art) selected over 160 pieces for this exhibition featuring 35 Arab artists and artists from countries with historical and cultural connections to Qatar, and spanning several artistic disciplines such as paintings, sculptures, photography, installations and video installations. Some of the artists featured in the exhibition are Etel Adnan, Mona Hatoum, Hassan Sharif, Faraj Daham, Shirin Neshat, Wael Shawky, Youssef Nabil or Ghada Amer.
