Saudi contemporary artist Khalid Zahid was born in London and raised in Jeddah. After receiving an MBA from the US, he returned to his native country to pursue a corporate life, though he was also interested in art. He began his artistic journey by creating pop art t-shirts, which became very popular. Zahid then evolved into photography and installations. His artworks address local socio-political themes, such as women’s rights in Saudi Arabia. Zahid still lives and works in Jeddah.
