Rifat Chadirgi, born in 1926, is an Iraqi architect and a partner in the famous Iraqi consultant office in Baghdad. Chadirji’s search for a contemporary Iraqi architecture was refined during the 1960s. Notable works include the Iraq Consult offices (1965), the building for the Iraqi Federation of Industries (1966), and offices for the Central Post, Telegraph and Telephone Administration (1971), all in Baghdad. He is also noted for his innovative work in furniture design and for his architectural writings and photography. Since 1982 he ceased architectural practice to concentrate on his work as a theorist.

In “Iraqioon” series, Ricardo Karam decided to dedicate a show to remarkable Iraqis who defeated wars and extremism with excellence and success. He aimed at providing Arab and Iraqi youth a glimmer of hope and confidence in their ability to outshine despite the tragedies and crises surrounding.
