Nizar Sabour is a Syrian visual artist with a Ph.D. in art philosophy from Strugunov Academy in Moscow. Sabour explains his art practice and recent experiences of the subjects, techniques and process. His work captures the spirit of Syrian iconography through historical faces and places to connect with the world by incorporating motifs from his ancestors from Palmyra, Maaloula, and other historical places.
