Zaid Mohammed Saleh was born in Baghdad, Iraq, in 1921. The son of prominent artist Mohammed Saleh Zaki, he was exposed to art from a young age and started painting as a hobby while he was in elementary school alongside Jewad Selim. In 1940 Saleh enrolled at the military school in Baghdad but kept drawing and painting. In the 50s, he took part in the exhibitions of the Iraqi Fine Art Associations. Saleh depicts horses, Iraqi landscapes, and rural areas realistically and abstractly. He passed away in 1986.
