Mandy El-Sayegh was born in Selangor, Malaysia, with Chinese and Palestinian roots. She earned a Bachelor degree in Mixed Media and Fine Art from the University of Westminster, London, in 2007, and a Master degree in painting from the Royal College of Art in London in 2009.
Her research-based approach originates from an investigation into the relationship between the individual components and the overarching whole, drawing inspiration from disciplines such as science and philosophy. Through her work in painting, installation, drawing, and writing, she confronts the disintegration of sociopolitical, economic, and semantic structures while also delving into the poetic and linguistic potential of fragmented systems. Mandy’s work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions, she resides and works in London.
