JEFFAR KHALDI, Palestine (1964)
Bio
Palestinian artist Jeffar Khaldi was born in Lebanon, 1964. Following the outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War, he fled to the United States and graduated from the University of North Texas in 1992. He later moved to Dubai, where he founded the B21 art gallery in 2005. In his works, Khaldi paints surrealist scenes inspired by his past experiences and his imagination, merging reality and fantasy to create a dream-like effect of nostalgia. He often depicts characters with distorted facial features using surreal colors amid imaginary backgrounds. His paintings also address the Palestinian cause, portraying the oppression of invasion and displacement. Khaldi lives and works in Dubai.
