Leila Kubba Kawash describes her work as follow: "Living in Beirut has been a continual source of inspiration. I am fascinated by the vitality of life and history around me that I try to capture in my paintings. It was a meaningful and pleasurable experience for me to work on the Marathon sculpture that is a symbol of the vitality of life, as art and the wellness of being are closely related, as they are both expressions of energy and life. I used the images of flight in my work to express that concept..”
