Hala Khayat – Former director at Christie’s Dubai
The international leading auction house Christie’s has been established in Dubai, United Arab Emirates since 2006. Throughout the multiple sales in Dubai, and in London, modern and contemporary artists from around the Middle East region gained international visibility. Since then, the local market has displayed the richness of Arab art and culture that has stretched centuries. Hala Khayat describes the evolution of this market since the beginning until the present day, and discusses the different challenges of an Arab art specialist.
